Background
Dianne C. Brown is a Budapest-based art consultant providing commercial and private art services.
She is also highly involved with the development of young, emerging Hungarian artists. Her mission is to promote Hungarian artists abroad and help them find their place in the international art world. Toward that purpose, she has founded the Art Factory Gallery and Studio. The Art Factory is a place where Hungary’s leading young artists can develop their art and their careers.
After moving to Budapest from New York in 1993 Mrs. Brown became founder and first president of the Friends of the Museum of Fine Arts. There she established the Painting Restoration Project which enrolls corporate sponsors to pay for much-needed restoration of the Museum’s Old Masters’ works. Notably, the first work restored by the project resulted in the discovery of a previously unknown Canaletto.
In 2001 Mrs. Brown opened her art consultancy specializing in Hungarian art. She was the art consultant for the Four Seasons Hotel Budapest Gresham Palace, winner of the 2004 European Hotel Design Award, amongst many others.
In 2005 the Summa-Artium Foundation nominated Mrs. Brown for recognition of her cultural contributions in Hungary. In Fall 2006 she was invited by the Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art to make a presentation of the Strabag Painting Award 10 Year Anniversary exhibition. In February and March 2007 she made presentations at the Ernst Museum and GE Women’s Forum on behalf of the 10-year anniversary of the Elesd Art Camp.
Dianne C. Brown is also co-director of Miami-based Torn Curtain Art, which held its first exhibition in Miami Beach December 5 – January 7, 2006, at the historic Lincoln Theatre. The Torn Curtain Art exhibition was the U.S. premier of top emerging artists from Hungary.
